BUSY BLUR
Busy is NOT creative!
The royal busyness
When we take on more than we can chew
And proudly state
“Do you know how busy I am”
It has become a status symbol
To flaunt the amount of work we do
Not the outcome but the activities
Once we go down that rabbit hole, it is a time suck
Wouldn’t you get frustrated
If all you did was continue to do something
But nothing much to show at the end of the day
In terms of what has been completed
Somehow we have fallen into the trap of thinking
It is ok
See how busy I am
How frantic my work is
Task overload and continuing to do something, anything,
Is like swimming against the current
However much we try, we will get pushed back
Only growing tired, and slowly sink
Burying ourselves in busyness
Is a false momentum
It is but an illusion of progress
When will we recognize it for what it is?
Why this busy blur then?
When we have the option to say no
To calibrate, is this something I really want to do
Should I considering doing this at all?
The act of creation, whatever it may be
Needs an outcome
This may be a rough draft, a scratch
Yet it qualifies as something completed
Multi-tasking is an abomination, misunderstood
It isn’t doing multiple things at once
It is doing many things, one at a time
Completing one task and moving to the next
Forever cooking will not fill a stomach
Continuous task overload will not satisfy creative urges
Only doing is doing
And I mean the creative kind
A sent draft

Now, close one creative loop today.
The Psychology of Shameless Creativity
Completion bias: The brain releases dopamine not for doing, but for finishing. We crave closure, not chaos.
Busywork illusion: Our brain prefers motion over meaning. It confuses exhaustion with achievement.
Pattern shift: The real interrupt? Closing the loop.
