You can pick the voice version, or the written word!
When you dip your feet in the river twice
Neither remains the same
Not the water, nor your feet
There are changes, observed and invisible
You made something sometime ago
And left it on the mantel, gathering dust
The cleanup wave happens and you realise
“Wow, what a piece”
Would you return it for display
Or let it loose into the world, once again?
Work that we have done, can be added to
With newer knowledge acquired along the way
The changing tastes of a newer audience
So we tweak.
Like a recipe that changes over time
New flavours added
Mixing cultures and traditions
Reusing old scripts
That punchline written much earlier
The speech delivered in a hurry
And a post whose time to repost has come!
You don’t need anyone’s permission
To reuse your own work
Your work is like the river water
Flowing, changing, adapting,
LIVING.

The Psychology of Shameless Creativity:
Ownership Loop: Ideas don’t expire. They evolve with us, repurposing is a sign of growth.
Familiarity Amnesia: Our old work surprises us, not because we’ve changed, but because we finally see it with distance.
